WILL I RECEIVE A TAX RECEIPT?

Tax receipts will be issued to for any donation of $20.00 CAD (twenty dollars Canadian) or more.

WILL I RECEIVE LETTERS FROM MY SPONSOR CHILD?

Absolutely! After your child knows that you are their sponsor, you will receive their first letter within the following two to three months. After the first calendar year, you will receive your child’s Annual Progress Report (APR), including a letter and an updated photo.

CAN I WRITE OR EMAIL MY SPONSOR CHILD?

We want you to know your sponsor child and for your sponsor child to know you. The children love to hear from their sponsors and they like receiving family photos and postcards. Send all letters to the ChildCare INTERNATIONAL office and we will forward them to your child. Please do not send letters that are over-sized or that weigh more than 100 grams.

To protect yourself from any unwanted solicitations please do not include any of your personal contact information in your letters. No addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses please.

You can also email a letter for your sponsor child through our office at info@childcareinternational.ca. Your letter will be printed and included in the next package of correspondence sent to your child’s country.

CAN I SEND A SPECIAL GIFT TO MY SPONSOR CHILD?

Special gifts can cause hurt feelings for those children who do not receive gifts from their sponsors. To ensure all children feel equally loved, we have a time of gift giving at Christmas. Every child receives a special Christmas gift on behalf of their sponsor. These gifts will vary depending on the country and the specific needs within the program. Children look forward to this annual celebration and they truly appreciate your kindness and generosity.

HOW LONG DO I SPONSOR?

Ideally sponsorship continues until your child reaches 18 years of age or graduates from Secondary School. As sponsorship is voluntary, your commitment is for as long as your desire or as long as you are financially able to sponsor your child.

AM I ABLE TO SPONSOR MORE THAN ONE CHILD?

You can sponsor as many children as you are financially able to. You can sponsor as an individual, a couple, a family, or as part of a group. We ask that you know your limits and sponsor within it as children depend on consistent sponsorship.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY SPONSOR CHILD TURNS 18 OR GRADUATES FROM SECONDARY SCHOOL?

When your sponsor child either matures or graduates, ChildCare INTERNATIONAL will work with you to find another sponsor child. Continued sponsorship is voluntary, but we believe by this point you will see how sponsorship changes lives.

Occasionally children sponsored with ChildCare INTERNATIONAL move to a location outside of our programs. This could happen for a number of reasons but most often it is a change in family situation or prevailing socioeconomic trends in that region. If, for whatever reason, your sponsor child relocates outside of one our programs, we will work with you to sponsor another child.
